How can i boost laptop music volume for dj-ing?

i have found that the music volume, with all controls at maximum, from the laptop is lower than that from a normal plug in CD player. is there something i can download or add to the laptop - or indeed plug in between the laptop and the dj amplifier - to make the music from the laptop louder?How can i boost laptop music volume for dj-ing?
Are you already taking the line out through to an amplifer?

just use the headphone socket or get a decent laptop soundcard.. external or pcima..
